What St. Alphonsa Has Taught Me

Happy Feast of St. Maria Goretti! As we began our day in prayer with the kids this morning, I couldn't help but think of the gigantic pizza my husband and I ate in Nettuno, Italy--where St. Maria Goretti's shrine is located. Praying at her tomb, and thinking about the ways that she modeled mercy and love for us, was a wonderful experience.

I am so grateful for the saints--those men and women in Heaven who have shown us practical ways to strive for holiness during life on Earth. I love feast days, the special days that are set apart so we may, in a particular way, reflect on and celebrate these people. There are some fabulous feast days this month, and I have a new article up at CatholicMom.com talking about one particular saint (who we celebrate at the end of this month) who has impacted my life:  What St. Alphonsa Has Taught Me.
